Job Overview:
Become a vital member of the healthcare team at Ingalls Memorial Hospital, serving as a Registered Nurse (RN) within the Obstetrics department.
Under the guidance of the department manager, the Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in clinical nursing and professional practice.
The Registered Nurse is tasked with coordinating and delivering direct nursing care to patients, applying the principles of the nursing process. This role also involves acting as a resource, mentor, and leader for physicians, professional colleagues, and other staff members, while providing supportive supervision to the Patient Care Team in collaboration with the Patient Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with physicians to assess, design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the patients' care plans and outcomes.
Exhibit the necessary skills and knowledge to perform complex nursing tasks and delegate responsibilities to other Care Team members based on unit-specific competencies appropriate for the patient demographics.
Monitor and ensure the quality of patient care and satisfaction.
Actively pursue professional development opportunities to enhance nursing skills.
Assume responsibility for the efficient operation of the Patient Care Center.
Collaborate with other team members to proactively identify and address the needs of patients, families, and physicians, exceeding their expectations while maintaining high standards of customer relations.
Adhere to the philosophy, mission, and vision of Ingalls Hospital, ensuring compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Observe and comply with corporate compliance requirements, reporting any issues as they arise in accordance with the Corporate Compliance Plan.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate's degree in Nursing or higher.
- Current RN Licensure from the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation or a valid temporary permit.
- Current Basic Life Support certification (Healthcare Provider Recognition).
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Experience in acute care or related nursing fields within the last five years.
