About the Role

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer systems
  • Identify root causes of basic failures and perform repairs as required
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Perform facility maintenance duties and interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
