Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation, coordination, implementation, and enforcement of information systems security policies and standards.
  • Maintain the operational security posture of information systems to ensure compliance with established security policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the daily security operations of the information system and manage its security aspects.
  • Conduct evaluations of security solutions to ensure they align with requirements for processing classified information.
  • Perform vulnerability and risk assessments to facilitate certification and accreditation processes.
  • Provide configuration management for security software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Manage system changes and assess their security implications.
  • Prepare and review essential documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages.
  • Support security authorization activities in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology Risk Management Framework (NIST RMF).

Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with polygraph.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Information Systems Security Officer on similar programs and contracts.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited institution is required; however, four additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher is mandatory.
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas is preferred:
    • Familiarity with current security tools.
    • Implementation of hardware/software security measures.
    • Understanding of communication protocols.
    • Knowledge of encryption techniques and tools.
