Job Summary

The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as an Environmental Program Specialist. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the effective implementation of our environmental programs and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of environmental data to inform program decisions
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve environmental compliance and enforcement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address environmental concerns
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to program staff on environmental issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to advance environmental goals
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in environmental program management or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent travel to field locations, including active mine and AML sites. The selected candidate must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, dust, and noise.
