As a Personal Care Assistant, your duties will include:
  • Providing Personal Health Care
  • Light Housekeeping Tasks

  • Transportation Assistance

Companionship Requirements:
Personal Care Assistants must be capable of assisting clients with:
  • Dressing
  • Feeding
  • Hair and Mouth Care
  • Shaving (electric or safety razor only)
  • Nail Care (excluding trimming)
  • Positioning and Transfers

Physical Requirements:
Applicants should be able to:
  • Push and pull clients weighing a minimum of 100 pounds
  • Lift clients weighing a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Navigate tight spaces and move between furniture
  • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, squatting, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, twisting, and reaching
  • Continuously engage in physical activities for up to an hour without rest

Additional Requirements:
To qualify as a Personal Care Assistant, candidates must:
  • Be an active member of the Family Care Safety Registry
  • Provide two references
  • Pass all required background checks upon hiring and throughout employment
  • Complete necessary training
  • Have vehicle insurance and reliable transportation
  • Exhibit flexibility to work in various client homes
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills to coordinate with the branch office weekly regarding scheduling
