About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tumor Registrar to join our team at Maine Medical Center. As a Tumor Registrar, you will play a critical role in the identification, collection, and management of health, medical, and outcome information on all oncology patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Abstract and code specific patient, cancer, and treatment information from various sources, including physician offices, MMC, and other healthcare facilities.
  • Maintain and update existing patient records annually.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Current Oncology Data Specialist Certificate.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy and physiology, typically acquired through a two-year biomedical, medical technician, or medical records program, or equivalent job experience in medical coding or cancer registry.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions according to established guidelines.
  • Ability to organize systems and extrapolate medical information.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and pay attention to detail.
