CARES is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as mental health conditions.
**Job Description**
We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to work with children and their families in our OWPDD program or HCBS program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and be able to communicate effectively with families and supervisors.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide resources and support to individuals and their families.
- Strenghten daily living skills.
- Improve socialization amongst peers.
- Enhance ability to interact with store staff/community helpers.
**Requirements**
- Prior experience providing direct services to individuals with a developmental and/or intellectual disability OR pursuing a degree in education, social work, nursing, or psychology.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
