Salary

The annual base salary range for this position is $132,000-$165,000. At Centric Brands, we believe our people are our greatest asset, and we seek to structure competitive compensation offers to ensure that we are able to attract and retain the best talent.

Job Description

The Director of Planning & Buying will provide strategy and guidance to drive sales, margin, and manage inventory, in line with corporate financial objectives and strategic vision for the brand. Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with the VP of Finance and the Director of Stores to build annual sales and margin plans by store/channel.
  • Developing seasonal buy plans to ensure the right level of investment by channel and providing financial guidance for the Buyer.
  • Partnering with Design, Merchandising, and Wholesale to execute the brand strategy across channels and throughout the product life cycle.
  • Influencing product and assortment strategies through collaboration with Design and Merchandising to accommodate DTC needs based on hindsight, store feedback, and strategic opportunities.
  • Leading across planning, buying, and allocation to drive in-season sales, margin, and inventory, and maximize the opportunity by channel.
  • Spearheading the process of planning, buying, and execution of new store openings.
  • Participating in cross-functional initiatives to drive process improvements, standardizations, and best practices aligned to accommodate complexities of the business.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Our best fit candidate would have:

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in merchandise planning, buying, and allocation experience a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of planning, OTB, inventory management, merchandising, assortment building, store planning, and allocation concepts, with an understanding of financial and operational impacts.
  • Leadership and strategic approach to business.
  • Analytical and data-driven decision maker.
  • Ability to manage workflow and thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Advanced Excel and MS Office skills. SAP a plus.
