Mission Critical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Designer to join our team at Power Cool Engineers, PC. As a Mission Critical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and optimization of mechanical systems for Mission Critical facilities such as data centers, telecommunications hubs, and other high-tech environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze Mechanical and Plumbing systems for Mission Critical facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop integrated solutions that meet the unique demands of Mission Critical environments.
- Design and optimize HVAC systems, ensuring energy efficient and reliable operation in Mission Critical facilities.
- Perform thermal load calculations, airflow & waterflow analysis, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and equipment selections to meet stringent environmental control requirements.
- Design plumbing systems with a focus on water efficiency, sustainability, and reliability. Ensure the seamless integration of plumbing systems within the Mission Critical infrastructure.
- Collaborate with project teams, including electrical engineers, architects, structural engineers, civil engineers and other stakeholders to coordinate Mechanical and Plumbing systems with overall project requirements.
- Stay abreast of industry codes, standards, and emerging technologies relevant to Mission Critical facilities.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure that designs meet or exceed client expectations and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is desired but not required.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is desired but not required.
- 3 years of experience in design / engineering, with a focus on Mission Critical facilities.
- Proficiency in relevant design software and tools (CFD, Load Calculations, etc.)
- Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD is desired.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
