Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and cognitive abilities to develop personalized treatment plans that promote optimal recovery and independence.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to enhance patients' abilities to perform daily activities, maintain functional skills, and achieve their goals.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination, effective communication, and optimal patient outcomes.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes to inform future care decisions.
- Patient Education and Support: Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, strategies, and activities to promote ongoing progress and independence outside of therapy sessions.
- Quality Assurance and Safety: Adhere to established protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Illinois.
- Certification: Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a clinical or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
