Job Overview

The successful candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing, with experience in managing complex patients and working effectively in high-pressure situations. As a Nurse Critical Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing individualized care to patients in the ICU, conducting thorough assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized care to patients in the ICU, including conducting thorough assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Manage complex patients, including those requiring critical care interventions such as CRRT, Prismaflex, and IABP.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care, including communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, including data collection and analysis, and implementing evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care, including progress notes, medication administration records, and other relevant documentation.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful as a Nurse Critical Care Specialist, you will need to have:

  • A valid RN license in New York State.
  • At least 2 years of experience in ICU nursing, with a strong background in critical care.
  • Experience with CRRT and Prismaflex, as well as other critical care interventions.
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
  • Able to work 12-hour shifts, with flexibility to work overtime as needed.
