Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality instruction to students with diverse needs and abilities.

Responsibilities

">
  • To teach in an inclusive classroom setting, sharing responsibilities with a general education teacher.
  • To provide resource small group support as needed.
  • To provide alternative or parallel teaching to a group of students and provide 1:1 teaching, as needed.
  • To employ multi-sensory teaching strategies and specialized instruction as needed based on student's specific disabilities.
  • To implement all modifications and accommodations for the classroom and in testing.
  • To create IEPs in collaboration with Child Response Team to ensure services are being delivered at a high level and are in compliance.
  • To use student IEPs, evaluations, and present levels of performance to ensure services are being delivered at a high level.
  • To collaborate with student support team to conduct annual IEP meetings.
  • To use data to responsively teach to mastery of academic skills.
  • To track student performance and progress and be responsible for continual improvement in student growth objectives.
  • To administer and track weekly assessment data to both monitor progress towards grade level goals as well as IEP goals.
  • To create action plans to improve performance when students are not on track to meet goals.
  • To consistently and clearly communicate progress to all shared stakeholders.
  • To participate in school, departmental and parent meetings.
  • To participate in school events, activities and programs both during and outside of regular class instruction hours.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required (Official transcripts showing degree conferred are required prior to the starting date of employment).
  • Appropriate state teaching certification completed or in process of being completed.
  • Subject matter expertise.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience, with demonstrated interest in working with students from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • A track record of success in the classroom.
  • A collaborative attitude towards teaching and learning.

Salary and Benefits

">

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $59,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. KIPP Miami offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health care, a competitive 403(B) plan, and a school laptop.
