Job Description/ResponsibilitiesPortledge School is seeking substitute teacher candidates who are passionate about creating a classroom environment that fosters curiosity-driven student learning. As a substitute teacher, you will have the opportunity to work in a warm, nurturing educational community with small class sizes. The pay for a full day of substitute work is $150.00.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction, mentoring, and teaching to students
  • Participate in collaborative planning and ongoing professional development
  • Stay current with educational research, technology, and pedagogy related to classroom instruction and educational trends

Qualifications
  • BA Degree minimum
  • Teaching certification preferred
  • Candidates with formal teaching experience given preference
  • Comfort in teaching in both in-person and online environments
  • Superb written and oral communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • A commitment to embodying the qualities of our Portledge community pillars: Kindness, Purpose, Honor, Respect
  • Ability to develop trusting, supportive relationships with students
  • Belief in the value of all types of diversity within a school

Pay Rate: $18.75 per hour ($150 per day)
