Role Summary:

The Field Engineer will support the Project Manager in overseeing the daily construction, technical, and administrative functions of assigned projects. This role is primarily field-based, providing essential support to project management and site operations.

Supervisory Duties:

Responsible for overseeing subcontractors as necessary, including resolving job site challenges and issues as they arise. This supervisory role requires the use of discretion and independent judgment in addressing discrepancies and significant matters on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Initiation: Review plans and specifications to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project; assess owner contracts for specific requirements; distribute drawings for pricing and contract awards; establish a master document set of drawings; and ensure adherence to document control procedures.
  • Kick-off Coordination: Organize initial project meetings and maintain drawing documentation.
  • RFI Management: Compile and process Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed.
  • Change Order Processing: Review incoming changes, set up pricing requests, and maintain logs for change proposals and orders.
  • Submittal Processing: Review and track submittals for compliance with specifications, ensuring timely follow-up with subcontractors and owners.
  • Administrative Support: Assist in scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and managing project-related correspondence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering Technology, with 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, 2+ years of administrative experience in the construction industry or related coursework.
  • Basic understanding of construction principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with technology and familiarity with BIM and LEED is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and professionalism in interactions with clients and colleagues.
