Physical Therapy Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at Ascension. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a physical therapist to provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct medically prescribed physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a physical therapist.
- Provide physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
- Perform therapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills as appropriate for the patient population.
- Document treatment interventions given.
- May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students, and other support personnel.
Requirements
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Rehab Therapist specializing in Physical Therapy Asst credentialed from the Michigan Board of Physical Therapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
Additional Preferences
- PTA licensure in State of Michigan. Preferred OP, Long Term Acute Care/IP experience.
