Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin Corporation. As a key member of our Software Engineering team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining software applications for our Torpedoes business area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications for target systems.
  • Write source code for new applications, and/or generate and enhance code for existing applications.
  • Perform code reviews, optimize algorithms, and models and conduct experiments to ensure the functionality and performance of products or solutions.
  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities.
  • Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
  • Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
Requirements
  • Qualified candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position. This requires US Citizenship.
  • Experience programming in C and C++ is required.
  • Experience in all phases of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), including requirements analysis, design, coding, unit test, integration, and verification.
  • Experience generating and maintaining program software documentation.
  • Experience with software configuration management.
  • Experience with Real time operating systems (VxWorks and Linux).
Desired Skills
  • Familiarity with Integrated Development Environments (Eclipse, Tornado, Visual Studio/Express).
  • Familiarity with Software Development Methodologies (Agile/Incremental/Waterfall).
  • Familiarity with Model based Engineering Unified Modeling Language (UML).
  • Familiarity with SW Metrics.
  • Experience with and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent writing, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Program & Technical Milestone reviews (PDRs/CDRs/TRRs) and support.

Pay Rate

The annual base salary range for this position is $85,900 - $164,600.
