Job SummaryMortenson seeks a skilled Ironworker Journeyman to join our team. As an Ironworker Journeyman, you will be responsible for marking, positioning, and securing structural steel members to reinforce concrete or building structures.
Key Responsibilities:- Setting up, flagging, and inspecting rigging properly
- Running a site level and directing forklift/crane to unload delivery truck
- Counting bars and bundles of rebar, dobies, and wire mesh
- Using pliers to tie rebar intersections with tie wire and splicing mats or rebar sections together with short rebar dowels
- Installing mechanical rebar splices by bolting or welding ends together and installing caps on vertical rebar dowels for safety
- Determining number, size, shape, and location of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions
- Bending steel rods with hand tools or rodbending machine and reinforcing concrete with wire mesh
- Ornamental Ironworker: Installing prefabricated ornamental ironwork
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of three years related experience
- Must have passed the Apprentice Aptitude Test
- Must possess valid driver's license
