Department Overview:

Applied Technology Services (ATS) operates as an internal service entity dedicated to delivering high-quality technical services and expertise to all business lines within PG&E Corporation. Located at PG&E's San Ramon Technology Center, ATS comprises a diverse team of around 129 engineers and technical staff who engage in various activities across ATS offices, laboratories, and field locations.

The Instrument Calibration and Repair Services division is tasked with providing calibration and repair solutions for a broad spectrum of measurement and testing instruments utilized throughout PG&E. This unit specializes in multiple areas, including AC and DC voltage, current, resistance, temperature, airflow, dimensions, time, and frequency. Calibrations for nuclear facilities adhere to federally mandated nuclear quality assurance program standards.

Position Summary:

The Instrument Calibration and Repair (IC&R) Supervisor plays a crucial role in leading, supervising, training, and providing engineering support to a team of engineering technicians. This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive calibration services for measurement and test equipment (M&TE) across all PG&E business lines. The Supervisor oversees the entire calibration production process, which involves planning, organizing, and monitoring unit assignments while ensuring that work expectations regarding scope, schedule, cost, safety, quality, environmental compliance, and responsiveness are clearly communicated to clients, personnel, management, and stakeholders.

Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all work expectations are met and for taking appropriate corrective actions when necessary. Effective personnel management is essential, including initiating and following through with performance management actions such as feedback, accountability, and development planning.

Compensation:

PG&E provides a salary range that reflects the company's good faith belief regarding compensation for this position. The actual salary will depend on various factors, including specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. The estimated salary range is as follows:

  • Minimum Base Salary: $147,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary: $199,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary: $251,000.00

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the enterprise system managing over 50,000 M&TE assets across PG&E.
  • Ensure compliance with quality management systems supporting ISO 17025 and nuclear safety-related calibrations, including the review and approval of technical documents.
  • Define future service offerings for the Instrument Calibration & Repair Unit that enhance PG&E's operations.
  • Collaborate with business partners to assess and integrate new technologies that provide value to their operations.
  • Engage in ATS planning and coordination to ensure the unit aligns with other ATS services and meets future requirements.
  • Establish short- and long-term goals for the unit and collaborate with the ATS Leadership Team on strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure production goals are met efficiently, managing turnaround times and financial budgets.
  • Lead and supervise daily production activities of direct reports.
  • Monitor employee attendance and performance effectively.
  • Enforce company policies consistently and fairly.
  • Prepare monthly reports on productivity and other critical business metrics.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of seven years in a relevant technical or engineering environment.
  • Willingness to travel 10-15% of the time.

Desired:

  • Two years of experience in a supervisory role within a production environment.
  • Experience managing and supervising Bargaining Unit personnel.
