Recreational Activities Coordinator

The Recreational Activities Coordinator plays a vital role in the execution and management of engaging and educational activities for participants. This position encompasses a variety of indoor, outdoor, and off-site experiences, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct and mentor participants in designated activities,
- Develop and oversee activity plans in collaboration with the Program Manager/Director of Operations,
- Ensure the availability and maintenance of necessary materials and equipment,
- Assess participants' skills and knowledge through both theoretical and practical evaluations, certifying them in line with applicable guidelines,
- Keep detailed records of participants' progress in certification and curriculum-related classes,
- Maintain current industry certifications,
- Complete and uphold CPR and First Aid certifications from recognized organizations,
- Provide first aid and CPR during emergencies, adhering to national standards,
- Participate in crisis intervention and physical restraint training as required by state and contractual obligations,
- Manage and de-escalate participant conflicts using state-approved methods,
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment through supervision, guidance, and role modeling,
- Comply with all contractual and state educational standards and Quality Improvement protocols,
- Actively engage in field trips and special events that involve recreational activities, maintenance tasks, and equipment management,
- Possess the ability to obtain and maintain Lifeguard and Challenge Course instructor certifications,
- Transport participants as needed and fulfill other work-related driving responsibilities,
- Assist with special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent,
- A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in areas such as aquatics instruction or ropes course facilitation.
