We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Bell Minor Home. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality resident care and support, promoting a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.
Responsibilities- Provide direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, including personal care, grooming, and mobility assistance.
- Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for residents, including maintaining a clean and organized living space.
- Record resident vital signs, weights, and measurements, as well as intake and output, food consumption, and other assigned information.
- Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care, providing input to the nurses for development of the plan of care.
- Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day, according to specific resident needs.
- Prepare residents for meals and transport them to the dining room, ensuring accessibility and assistance as needed.
- Keep accurate records of food intake and output, as directed.
- Assist nursing staff with aseptic and sterile techniques to prevent infection and contamination.
- Promptly answer call lights and respond to resident needs.
- Utilize proper body mechanics when lifting or transporting residents.
- Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested.
- Attend in-service education programs to meet facility educational requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records/information.
- Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse.
- Protect the personal property of residents.
- Adhere to attendance standards and maintain established housekeeping standards within assigned duty areas.
- Current Nursing Assistant Certification from the state.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Organized and detailed work performance.
- Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled individuals.
- Compliance with Resident Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
- Meet general health requirements set forth by the facility's policies, which may include a medical and physical examination.
Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions. May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals. Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
