Career Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Career Development Specialist to join our team at Equus Workforce Solutions. As a key member of our workforce development team, you will play a critical role in helping job seekers and career changers prepare for and advance in careers with a focus on sustainable, high-growth, high-demand industries.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients to aid in eliminating challenges that hinder employment, including assessment, individualized attention, and coordination.
- Provide comprehensive case management and follow-up services to ensure positive outcomes and goals are met.
- Conduct new customer orientation and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed and received.
- Facilitate professional development workshops and maintain organized databases of clients and detailed documentation of all contacts.
- Develop and implement solutions to participant attendance problems and provide referrals to community service or social service agencies when needed.
- Accurately complete required documentation for enrollment and document all participant contacts and activities in case notes.
- Manage programs, including the coordination of introductory workshops, facilitation of weekly workshops, issuance of grants, and collection of placement data.
- Work collaboratively with the business services team to identify available jobs, qualifications needed, and workshops and trainings that can best prepare job seekers for these positions.
- Develop and maintain a standard communication plan to keep staff aware of center-wide issues and their role in meeting operational goals.
- Participate in training, capacity building, and professional development activities and work with leadership to identify operational challenges and design process improvements.
- Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require.
- A working knowledge of MS Office and Google Docs.
- Two years of experience in career advisement and development, workshop facilitation, developing workforce curriculum, public speaking, and content development.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts.
- Demonstrated telephone, computer, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to thrive in environments with multiple stakeholders, frequent change, and diverse objectives.
- Professional understanding of a vast array of occupations and career paths, ideally including those in the healthcare field.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, social services, healthcare, and/or communications.
- Customer service experience required.
