Security Officer

MoMA is seeking a Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our visitors, staff, and collection.
Key Responsibilities:- Communicate Museum policies and procedures to staff and visitors to ensure the safety of the collection and public.
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to identify and report any safety concerns or issues.
- Respond to emergency incidents, such as medical emergencies or natural disasters, and provide assistance as needed.
- Complete daily logs and other security reports as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Security Managers and Supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- New York State Guard certificate required; CPR/AED/FSD and/or Fire Guard certification preferred but will be provided.
- Minimum one year of security or customer service experience.
- Prior museum or art-related experience a plus but not required.
- Fluency in languages in addition to English preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor in a dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods and climb stairs.
- Ability to work weekends and participate in the TSA's Certified Cargo Screening Facility Program.
- Competitive hourly rate of $24.70.
