Sports Medicine Psychologist Job Description

We are seeking a Sports Medicine Psychologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento, California.

Job Summary: The Sports Medicine Psychologist will provide comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations and treatment for patients with neurological, psychiatric, and general medical conditions.

  • Perform neuropsychological evaluations for patients with various neurological disorders, including aneurysm, stroke, and traumatic brain injury.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with cognitive and behavioral rehabilitation needs.
  • Collaborate with treating physicians and other healthcare professionals to plan and direct individualized treatment programs.
  • Provide clinical supervision to pre-doctoral psychology interns, postdoctoral psychology fellows, and other mental health trainees as necessary.

Requirements: A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology from an accredited university, 1 year of predoctoral internship experience in neuropsychology, and 2000 hours of formal postdoctoral training program in neuropsychology are required. The ideal candidate will have documented experience working with interdisciplinary teams in neurorehabilitation settings and knowledge of social services agencies and state regulations.
