Position Overview:
AM Mechanical is a nationwide design/build mechanical contractor, specializing in the installation of commercial HVAC systems. We cater to a diverse range of sectors, including commercial laundry, manufacturing, plastics, clean rooms, food & beverage, cosmetics/pharmaceuticals, and indoor vertical agriculture.
As a Commercial HVAC Project Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating and coordinating with our on-site teams to implement comprehensive mechanical HVAC systems on active construction sites and operational facilities. At AM Mechanical, we take pride in our team's ability to deliver high-quality project installations while adhering to stringent safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and scale dimensions from blueprints to accurately layout overhead square and round ductwork in commercial environments, ensuring proper elevations to prevent conflicts with other building systems.
- Collaborate with other trades on-site to anticipate and mitigate potential conflicts.
- Plan and schedule crew activities up to three weeks in advance.
- Manage inventory of materials ahead of scheduled work to ensure all field personnel are equipped to complete their tasks.
- Work closely with Office/Project Managers to achieve project completion that meets customer satisfaction.
- Lead a team of field personnel, ranging from 4 to 12 members, ensuring the correct and safe installation of all specified HVAC systems.
- Oversee the installation of various HVAC system specifications, including but not limited to:
- Rectangular Duct Systems
- Spiral/Round Duct Systems
- Packaged RTUs
- Air Handlers
- Exhaust Fans
- Roof Curbs
- Unit Heaters
- Flex Ducts and Grills
- Familiarity with HVAC wiring diagrams
- Layout, install, and assemble facility equipment according to detailed drawings and specifications.
- Collaborate with journeyman HVAC installers to achieve daily objectives.
- Establish and adjust work sequences to align with construction schedules, utilizing knowledge of equipment capacities and assigned personnel.
- Engage in problem-solving with team members and other personnel on-site to ensure installation is coordinated and meets customer quality expectations.
- Operate and supervise the use of equipment and machinery, including forklifts, man lifts, and power tools.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or trade school certification.
- 5-15+ years of HVAC experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role within HVAC-related projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of materials and installation practices within the mechanical construction industry.
- Willingness to travel to various construction projects nationwide.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, time entry, and project scheduling software.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including prolonged standing or walking, navigating uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
