Job Summary:
Mercy is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiovascular and Surgical ICU team. As an RN in this role, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients requiring ICU admission.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to patients with complex medical conditions, including cardiothoracic, vascular, general, and head/neck surgery patients.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in their condition.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
Physical Demands:
The position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Prolonged standing and walking are also required each shift. The ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat is necessary to perform duties.
