Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in a variety of settings. We are seeking a Registered Behavior Technician to join our team in Nashville, TN.

About the Role

As a Registered Behavior Technician, you will work in homes, schools, and community settings with children, adolescents, and adults, using evidence-based practices to teach critical skills needed for each individual to live a meaningful and independent life.

Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite services to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities through data-driven methodologies that include trauma-informed care and positive behavior supports.
  • Model and implement behavioral support strategies specified in the Behavior Plan to assist participants in acquiring, retaining, improving, and generalizing behavioral, self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills.
  • Provide timely and structured written feedback to clinicians on the provision and effectiveness of the Behavior Plan and strategies.
  • Participate in onsite meetings or instructional sessions with the participant's support network regarding recommendations, strategies, and next steps identified in the Behavior Plan.
  • Collect data on progress and work collaboratively to ensure effective behavior reduction, skill acquisition, and skill generalization.
  • Prepare progress reports for the participant's team as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successfully complete a 40-hour behavioral technician training
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports
  • Ability to implement Behavior Plans independently and confidently
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with participants receiving supports
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and graph data
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form
