We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Probation Officer to join our team at the Iowa Department of Administrative Services. As a Probation Officer, you will be responsible for supervising a caseload of high-risk offenders and employing various monitoring and rehabilitative techniques to ensure public safety and support the rehabilitation of offenders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human services or criminal justice, with experience in supervising offenders and developing effective rehabilitation plans. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with offenders, colleagues, and community partners.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising a caseload of high-risk offenders and developing effective rehabilitation plans
- Employing various monitoring and rehabilitative techniques, including home and work visits, collateral contacts, and electronic monitoring
- Qualifying with and carrying firearms and other weapons, as required
- Meeting all requirements and pre-testing involved in being eligible for ILEA Law Enforcement Officer Certification in Iowa
