About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at Hannaford Supermarkets. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and operating a cash register with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment by restocking shelves, sweeping and mopping floors, and disposing of trash and recyclables.
  • Operate a cash register with accuracy and efficiency, handling cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
  • Process transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist customers with finding products, answering questions, and providing recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with other sales associates and store management to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive store environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous retail or customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of store policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
