Job Title: Java Backend Developer with Node

At eTek IT Services, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Java Backend Developer with Node.js expertise to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance backend services and applications using Java and Node.js.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop Java-based backend services and applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Optimize and maintain existing systems for performance and scalability
  • Integrate data storage solutions using SQL databases
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs for seamless interaction with front-end systems
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure smooth operation of backend services
  • Conduct code reviews to uphold code quality and standards
  • Document, test, and deploy backend systems and applications
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in backend development
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience in Java and Node.js development
  • Proficiency in SQL database management
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
  • Experience with version control systems like Git
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good understanding of software testing principles
  • Capability to work on W2 basis
What You'll Do:
  • Create reusable JavaScript libraries that can be used for web applications
  • Upgrade legacy JavaScript and Node.js-based applications to the latest JS and Node.js libraries, including their dependencies
  • Design and implement new features for device orchestration and API integration at scale for retail checkout applications
  • Decompose vague and poorly defined requirements into well-structured functional and non-functional requirements
  • Drive independently the requirement clarification, coding, and testing of applications
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbal to small and wider working groups
What You'll Bring:
  • A mindset that guarantees Operational Excellence at each layer, including design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Very deep understanding of TypeScript, JavaScript, Redux, React, and Java
  • 5+ years of large-scale project experience using TypeScript, JavaScript, Redux, React, Java, Jest, GIT, VS Code, messaging framework
  • 5+ years of designing applications and practicing SOLID principles in each development
  • 5+ years of deploying TDD on a large-scale software
  • 5+ years of developing contract-first development
  • 5+ years of monitoring and addressing production issues at scale
  • 3+ years of developing dashboards and data analysis using Splunk, Grafana, and BIG query
  • Ability to create automated unit and integration testing
