POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a casual store associate to assist in our operations across multiple locations on an as-needed basis. This role involves supporting the management team with daily store activities, focusing on customer service, managing donations, sorting and pricing merchandise, and maintaining the sales floor. Flexibility in scheduling is a key aspect of this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the overall operations of the store by following the guidance of the store manager and assistant manager.
  • Assist customers in finding and selecting products.
  • Handle customer transactions efficiently using the cash register, package purchases, and express gratitude to customers.
  • Ensure accurate processing of sales transactions while maintaining control over cash and credit card transactions by adhering to established procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while remaining composed and professional in challenging situations.
  • Keep the sales area and inventory organized, clean, and visually appealing.
  • Provide outstanding service to customers, operate the cash register, and manage donation acceptance.
  • Implement and uphold store policies consistently, including inventory acceptance criteria, pricing methods, and return policies.
  • Issue receipts to donors for their contributions, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred one year of experience in retail or a second-hand store environment.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Must be capable of lifting items weighing up to 40 lbs.
