Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Engineer to join our Water Business Sector team at West Yost. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of our water system, water resource, recycled water, and collection system planning services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical evaluations of wastewater collection systems using commercial hydraulic modeling software.
  • Collaborate with project teams on projects throughout California and Oregon.
  • Analyze flow, demand, population, water quality, and facilities condition data.
  • Assess collection system regulatory compliance.
  • Develop wastewater collection system capital improvement programs.
  • Prepare technical reports and master plans.
  • Train and mentor staff on wastewater collection evaluation and assessments.
  • Serve as a project manager directing hydraulic modeling and master planning work.
  • Provide QA/QC review on the work of others in the wastewater collection system planning team.
  • Interact directly with clients and provide excellent client service.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience with Wastewater Collection System Planning and Hydraulic Modeling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with CAD, GIS, Microsoft Access, and hydraulic modeling software.
  • PE licensure in the State of California.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to process accurate engineering calculations unaided and prepare reports.
  • Proven ability to summarize technical information using appropriate grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Experience with direct client interaction and proposal writing.
