About the Role

We are seeking two experienced Senior Lawyers to join our new office in Wodonga, focusing on criminal law, family violence, child protection, and youth crime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation in complex criminal law and family violence matters.
  • Play an important role in court advocacy, oversee and mentor staff, and contribute to community legal education and law reform initiatives.
  • Deliver high-quality legal services in child protection, intervention orders, and youth crime cases, primarily in the Children's Court of Victoria.
About You

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A valid Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).
  • Significant experience in criminal law, family violence, child protection, or youth crime, depending on the role.
  • Understanding of relevant laws and procedures, such as the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005, and the ability to apply this knowledge in complex cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and develop junior lawyers fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • High-level interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing a substantial caseload effectively.
