Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pulmonary care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under the direction of a physician with minimal supervision.
  • Perform various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of the hospital.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop respiratory care plans.
  • Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Participate in emergency response, airway management, and ventilator management.
  • Deliver aerosolized drugs, perform oral hygiene, and manage airway retaining devices.
  • Monitor oxygen delivery devices, analyze chest films, and collect and analyze blood gases.
  • Accurately document patient information and maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in CAP and JC surveys.
  • May function as Shift Leader or Team Leader.
  • Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management, pulmonary function testing, and bronchoscopy assist.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience preferred.
  • RT or RCP License in the state of employment required.
  • BLS required.
  • CRT through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
