Job Summary:

The Shelter Shift Leader will oversee the day-to-day operations of the shelter, ensuring that all functions are met under the supervision of the Shelter Deputy Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of other shelter monitors on the shift.
  • Ensure that intakes and screenings are conducted properly, guests have individual spaces, meals are served and cleaned up, and lights out are timely and respected.
  • Coordinate the cleaning and sanitizing of all dorms, bathrooms, kitchens, and sleeping areas.
  • Document population statistics, incident reports, and staff logs.
  • Coordinate monitors and orient new monitors on the shift.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Education in social services or substance abuse (preferred).
  • Experience in informal mental health or substance abuse evaluation.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple duties.
  • Ability to prioritize work and multitask simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately.
  • Good interaction skills.

Equipment Used:

  • Modern office equipment and relevant software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
