Position Overview: The Room Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of guest accommodations and shared spaces. This position collaborates closely with the Housekeeping Management Team to uphold brand standards and ensure an exceptional experience for all guests.


Key Responsibilities:

Deliver outstanding service in every interaction with guests, adhering to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. service principles. Address guest inquiries and special requests promptly, taking necessary actions to ensure their satisfaction.

Maintain assigned rooms or areas by following established cleaning protocols, which include:

  • Making beds and changing linens
  • Dusting and vacuuming surfaces
  • Sanitizing bathrooms and replenishing supplies
  • Emptying trash and maintaining cleanliness in kitchen areas, including appliances and dishware

Notify supervisors upon completion of cleaning tasks to facilitate room availability for guests. Report any rooms that cannot be serviced according to established guidelines.

When assigned to laundry duties, oversee the inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure equipment is functioning properly. Operate laundry machines in compliance with hotel standards and manufacturer instructions. Inspect incoming linens for damages or stains, and manage the folding and storage of clean items while reporting any issues to supervisors.

Strive to minimize waste of supplies and promote a collaborative environment through effective communication with team members across shifts. Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in housekeeping is preferred, particularly in the extended stay sector. Proficiency in English is advantageous, with additional language skills considered beneficial. Candidates should possess basic literacy and numeracy skills. The role requires physical stamina, including frequent standing, bending, and lifting items up to 75 pounds. Familiarity with commercial cleaning products is necessary, and flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is expected.
