Job Description

As an Assistant Store Manager at Aldi, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our stores. Your responsibilities will include assisting with supervising day-to-day store activities, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans to drive sales and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve store performance
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • Identify training and development opportunities to enhance employee performance
  • Monitor the competitive environment and inform the direct leader of necessary adjustments
  • Provide product feedback and recommendations to the direct leader
  • Participate in the interviewing process for store personnel
  • Communicate information and updates to store personnel
  • Ensure store personnel adhere to inventory procedures and cash control policies
  • Resolve operational customer concerns in the direct leader's absence
  • Identify and rectify hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics and equipment maintenance

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner
