**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Seasonal Bakery Clerk to join our team at Northgate Markets. As a key member of our bakery department, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating the bakery in an efficient manner, ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality products.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Maintain a clean and organized bakery environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise, verifying inventory and checking products for quality and condition.
- Rotate bakery ingredients and merchandise according to store policy, using the first-in, first-out method.
- Take stock to storage or shelf areas, reducing out-of-code merchandise daily to maintain department image.
- Wrap, package, and price products accurately and legibly, answering phones and taking special orders as needed.
- Control utility usage and observe sound conservation practices, maintaining general housekeeping and a regular cleaning program.
- Check refrigeration equipment for proper performance, using and maintaining equipment in an orderly manner.
- Secure registers prior to leaving, protecting company assets at all times.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations, performing any other work-related duties as assigned.
**Requirements and Conditions:**
- High school education or equivalent preferred, with a minimum of one year experience in full bakery operations and procedures.
- Health department training required, with the ability to calculate figures and amounts, and accurately complete required reports.
- Ability to read, write, and understand the English language effectively, with knowledge of various types of products carried in the department.
- Physical demands include standing, sitting, and using hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, with occasional exertion or lifting up to 50 pounds.
