We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director, Engineering to join our team at EPCOR. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in the area of Engineering & Operational Due Diligence, Startup and Commissioning, and Technical Support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough engineering and operational due diligence for potential business acquisitions and pursuits.
  • Manage and deliver key capital projects and programs assigned to the division, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  • Support the division in coordinating and acquiring regulatory permits, real property needs, and new/upgraded non-EPCOR owned utility services as required for water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Perform technical analysis and provide recommendations to support operational excellence.
  • Manage and develop a team of 4-5 engineers, working closely with plant operations management to identify and develop operational indicators and procedures for the plant operational staff to follow.
  • Assign and oversee resources to perform capital improvement projects and above-mentioned tasks.
  • Develop comprehensive long-term capital investment and annual engineering functional business plans for the Taylor, TX operations.
  • Pursue educational opportunities and professional development to enhance performance and contributions to the organization.

Requirements

  • 4-year Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • Professional Engineering license (P.Eng.) with ability to obtain reciprocity in TX (optional).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing and collaborating with engineering and operational teams on startup and operation of water and wastewater infrastructure projects and programs.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a team of Engineers.
  • Operator certification is a plus.
  • Strong leadership ability, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and keen listening abilities.
  • Outstanding analysis and problem-solving abilities, as well as proven results-driven goals orientation.
  • Collaborative team working skills and expertise to achieve business goals, build cohesiveness, and value individual perspectives and contributions.
  • Proven strong knowledge of chemistry and advanced water treatment technologies.
