KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides comprehensive nursing care in alignment with established nursing standards. (30%)
Assists in preparing medical equipment and supports the physician/clinical provider during patient examinations and treatments. (20%)
Gathers assessment data, readies patients for examinations, and accurately documents clinical information in patient records. (20%)
Orders diagnostic tests as instructed by the registered nurse or physician/clinical provider and reviews test results prior to assessment.
(20%)Coordinates scheduling of procedures and secures necessary authorizations. (5%)
May administer injections or medications, collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, and prepare them for analysis. (5%)
Performs additional duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of experience in a healthcare setting.
Certification from a state-approved IV course.
Familiarity with OASIS documentation and assessment processes.
PALS or ACLS certification may be required based on specific practice areas.
