Job Summary

The Field Cyber Technician is a critical role that requires a unique blend of technical expertise and adaptability. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the operation of Information Technology (IT) systems safely and efficiently, as well as the day-to-day operations, including implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, procure, and install, configure, and support IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices.
  • Implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of an IT system that includes Windows Active Directory, Windows Server 2016, SMTP, Windows 7/8/10, and Microsoft Office suites within a closed environment.
  • Install, configure, and maintain client and 3rd party product components. Ensure the design and development of integrated business, engineering secure communication/data systems, and products support the achievement of the client's business goals.
  • Respond to system failures and work with vendors/Customer groups to resolve issues related to hardware and software.
  • Perform regularly scheduled hardware and software maintenance, security patches, and database and file system backups.
  • Analyze and resolve product support deficiencies.
  • Monitor and track trouble tickets (emails) and change requests to ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Prepare detailed systems administration plans and level of effort estimates for project deadlines; provide a thorough bill of materials and cost estimates for new hardware and software or upgrades to and maintenance of existing hardware and software.
  • Support customer Gov't secure communications operation, troubleshooting, and installation.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and their network communication.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical associate degree or tech trade school preferred; experience may be considered in place of formal education
  • Formal mechanical and hydraulic training or formal electrical and electronics training
  • Must possess strong networking skills with hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching, VLAN management, VSAT operation concept, and in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Must hold or be able to receive industry-recognized Certifications such as NET+, SEC+, MCSE, CCNA/CCNP
  • Willing to work offshore in harsh weather environments on a rotation or callout basis
  • Must pass a drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Will be required to ride boats, barges, and air transportation to remote areas
  • Must obtain a valid Passport and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Card)
  • Must be willing to travel internationally on short notice for up to six weeks and at least six months out of the year

Must have a Secret government security clearance to start and attain a Top-Secret clearance.
