Pediatric Physician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Physician to join our team at Variety Care. As a Pediatric Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to children from birth through adolescence, focusing on their mental and physical growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine patients to determine the presence of disease and establish preventive health practices.
  • Determine the nature and extent of disease or injury, and prescribe and administer medications and immunizations as needed.
  • Perform a variety of medical duties, including providing emergency screening and stabilization of acute patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Supervise nurse practitioners and physician assistants as needed, and refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
  • Participate in the 24-hour on-call system and attend in-service and administrative meetings pertinent to the position.
  • Train residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals, and provide in-service for other medical staff.
  • Follow guidelines for provider productivity and quality care, and participate in quality improvement activities.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy from an accredited university, licensed in Oklahoma prior to start date.
  • Graduate of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
  • Board-certified with the American Board of Pediatrics, or board-eligible with board certification required within 2 years after completion of residency.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
