We are seeking a skilled Psychosocial Therapist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will provide comprehensive social work services to patients and their families.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position with a scheduled weekly hours of 40. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field and be licensed to practice in one of the following states: West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, or Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities- Provide psychosocial assessments to identify emotional, social, and community strengths and problems related to patient diagnosis, illness, treatment, and life situation.
- Participate in an interdisciplinary treatment team led by a physician and formulate, develop, and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
- Screen, educate, and provide therapy and interventions to individuals with various presenting problems, including substance abuse, depression, anxiety, thought disorders, trauma, and autism spectrum.
- Provide consultative services to healthcare team members within the scope of care definitions and maintain a working knowledge of relevant medical and legal issues that impact patient care.
- Provide education to patients and families around adaptation to diagnosis, illness, treatment, and life situation, and participate in multi-disciplinary healthcare teams.
- Formulate, develop, and implement discharge plans, and act as a liaison with community agencies and resources to assist patients and families.
- Facilitate cognitive/psychoeducational group therapy, individual Solution Focused Brief therapy, and crisis intervention as ordered by a doctor or as needed.
- Document assessments, plans, interactions, and interventions according to departmental, hospital, and health system guidelines and standards.
- Maintain electronic medical records and documentation, and attend and participate in staff, committee, department, and other administrative meetings.
- Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field.
- License to practice in West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, or Pennsylvania.
- Two years of social work experience.
- Certification in Case Management (preferred).
This role will be based in our inpatient setting, with flexible hours to include weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, and basic computer knowledge.

The estimated annual salary for this role is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
