Position Summary

The role involves facilitating efficient warehouse operations, focusing on specific tasks related to receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess product quality, categorize by grade, and sort by size.
  • Package products appropriately for distribution.
  • Exemplify and promote the Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence, and Teamwork) to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings addressing safety, quality, and productivity matters.
  • Coordinate with transport personnel to ensure timely receipt of incoming shipments.
  • Review receiving documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain warehouse layout for optimal product, packaging, and equipment storage.
  • Load pallets securely to ensure stability during transport.
  • Achieve cost-effective standards in all warehouse functions.
  • Uphold cleanliness and safety standards by addressing spills and reporting hazards.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other necessary equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct quality inspections on products and ensure proper tagging and rotation.
  • Utilize pick tickets effectively for order picking, packing, and loading.
  • Verify approval of return labels before restocking items.
  • Implement assigned HACCP plans effectively.
  • Ensure complete receipt of products, proper rotation, and staging in accurate quantities.
  • Report maintenance needs promptly and ensure equipment is well-maintained.
  • Execute emergency replenishment for low-stock items to meet customer demands.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Minimum of one year experience in seafood distribution or production is essential.
  • Experience with forklifts and pallet jacks is preferred.
  • Forklift certification is a requirement.

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend basic two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences in words and numbers.
  • Ability to communicate simple sentences effectively.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
  • Capable of addressing problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Compensation: $21.08 per hour
