Exterior Engineer

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking a skilled Exterior Engineer to join our team in Superior Township, MI. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and releasing body mechanism parts for Hyundai, KIA, and Genesis North American made vehicles.

• Design and develop innovative solutions to improve responsible components from cost/mass, performance, and quality perspectives.
• Lead the development of concept sections and surfaces, negotiating with suppliers, styling, and surrounding part engineers to achieve the best design.
• Develop and release BOMs for responsible parts, leading the resolution of proto and pilot build issues.
• Launch vehicles and create technical reports to communicate project status and results.
• Assess current designs and recommend engineering improvements.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• Experience in one or more areas of Body Mechanism Components, including Wipers, Mirrors, Windshield, and Washer Systems.
• Knowledge of US regulations and design, manufacturing, and assembly of Body Mechanism components.
• Experience utilizing Computer-Aided Design tools, preferably CATIA V5.
