Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the 02250 AMG Womens Center Green Bay - Obstetrics/Gynecology department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to deliver high-quality patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Provide triage and consultation services to patients, families, and significant others, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Document and communicate accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.
  • Prepare and room patients for exams, obtaining vital signs and updating pertinent health information.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, including strep tests, wound cultures, and specimen collection, adhering to aseptic technique and standard precautions.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries, such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, and EMG.
  • Administer medications, including immunizations, antibiotics, and narcotic pain medications, under physician orders.
  • Initiate, maintain, and discontinue IV therapy, and perform mixing of medications according to protocols.
  • Assess and provide patient education and counseling on tasks, skills, treatment, and self-care, integrating health promotion and preventive aspects of care.
  • Follow through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times, and referrals to other facilities or services.
  • Refer questions to physicians and relay information back to patients as directed.
  • Perform advanced clinical tasks or skills, such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, and laboratory procedures, with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of staff orientation, competency, and educational activities.
  • Act as an expert clinical and department resource, and may provide work direction to other staff and/or assist with patient care flow and the provision of services.
  • Organize and prepare exam rooms, lab, and work areas, including cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Labor and Delivery and Triage.
  • Leadership skills, including delegation, organization, prioritization, and building team rapport.
  • Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, use of electronic mail, and electronic medical records systems.
Work Environment

This role requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, climbing, and reaching above shoulders throughout the workday. The team member must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from the floor to the waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance. The team member must also be able to push/pull with 30 lbs of force, perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present, and be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluids on a frequent basis.
