Job Summary:

As a Phlebotomy Technician I at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, you will perform routine blood collection on all age groups, including neonates and infants, under the supervision of Manager, Preanalytical Laboratory Services and Phlebotomy Supervisors. You will also demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to function in Specimen Processing and Receiving area of the Laboratory.

Responsibilities:

* Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages
* Process and receive laboratory specimens
* Maintain accurate records and reports
* Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations

Requirements:

* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Graduate of a vocational program in phlebotomy or three months of experience
* Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

* Demonstrated knowledge of computer skills for patient ID system and specimen processing functions
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work with minimal supervision

Work Schedule:

* 5a-1:30p (8hr shifts)
* Rotating weekends and holidays
