Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Associate Underwriter to become a vital part of our E&S Property team.
Location: Hybrid work model available.
Compensation: Competitive salary target of $65,000.00.
Key Responsibilities:
- Issue quotes and binders as authorized by the Senior Underwriter.
- Review policy issuance and conduct thorough inspection analyses to identify issues and implement necessary changes.
- Support Underwriters with various tasks as needed.
- Assist in processing submissions and provide triage for Underwriters.
- Offer backup support for Underwriters during market travel.
- Collect and compile information necessary for quoting and binding accounts.
- Generate and manage correspondence on behalf of Underwriters, including declination letters and follow-ups.
- Demonstrate a foundational understanding of underwriting principles and risk characteristics.
- Learn about market dynamics and product variations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and underwriting support to meet premium goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with producers.
- Accompany Underwriters on travel assignments.
- Perform other clerical and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Assist in ensuring business continuity during peak periods or when team members are unavailable.
- Bachelor's degree or 2 to 4 years of experience in the insurance sector.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
- Complete tasks accurately and on time, with a quick learning ability.
- Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently for extended periods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a solid understanding of business operations.
