Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Crescent City Recruitment Group. As a Senior Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and special procedure imaging, preparing patients for procedures, and assisting radiologists as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and adhere to performance standards, policies, and behaviors.
  • Prepare and position patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol.
  • Assume responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures, producing good technical images and reviewing completed exams for quality and completeness.
  • Assist physicians during procedures as necessary.
  • Perform equipment quality assurance and calibrations as needed, ordering supplies.
  • Work in emergency procedures or situations that arise in the department, including on-call, holiday, overtime, and/or day, evening, and overnight shift coverage.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment, and accessories, reporting malfunctioning equipment to Bio Med or supervisor.
  • Process images or print CDs as needed.
  • Perform routine office duties, such as answering phones, checking previous reports/films, documenting information on patients' requests, and using Meditech or hospital RIS and PACs digital x-ray system.
  • Notify transport when patients are ready to be picked up or returned to floors.
  • Show radiologist images and call reports to the attending physician, documenting communications if necessary.
  • May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor.
  • Treat all people/staff in a professional and courteous manner, upholding the hospital's behavioral standards.
  • Introduce yourself and educate each patient or family member regarding the examination ordered.
  • Be knowledgeable and skillful in providing care based on age, physical, and psychosocial needs of different patient populations.
  • Perform other related duties as required, attending staff meetings and in-services.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an allied health education and accredited radiography school, or hospital-based program.
  • NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required.
  • ARRT registered (RT) and radiograph (R) required.
  • Continuing education requirements need to be upheld to meet the standards set forth by governing bodies.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.
  • Radiation dose pledge for both Image Gently and Image Wisely through the American College of Radiology (ACR) will be performed during the orientation process and before the end of the probationary period.
