Join Our Team as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Pediatric Cardiology

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team at the Center for Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine, Seattle Children's Research Institute. As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects in pediatric cardiology, focusing on the development of novel treatments for children born with severe cardiac defects.

Our lab uses a combination of basic science and translational approaches to improve the care of children with cardiac defects. We are particularly interested in elucidating the mechanisms of systemic inflammation that occur after cardiopulmonary bypass, which is required for the majority of cardiac surgeries. This project has been recently awarded a R01 grant and offers a unique opportunity for a Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to high-impact research.

As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will be responsible for performing laboratory procedures, assisting in planning research experiments, and analyzing data. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with a post-doc and graduate/undergraduate students to plan and supervise several parallel lines of investigation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory procedures and assist in planning research experiments
  • Analyze data and contribute to the development of research papers
  • Work closely with a post-doc and graduate/undergraduate students to plan and supervise research projects
  • Assist in the development of research proposals and grant applications
Requirements:
  • Doctorate degree (PhD/DVM/MD) in a relevant field
  • Experience using basic research techniques in pediatric cardiology or a related field
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience conducting research in pediatric cardiology or a related field
  • Experience in protocol and manuscript development, and grant writing
