Job Description

Rumpke Transportation Company, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Driver Trainee to join our team. As a Driver Trainee, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the waste management industry and develop the skills necessary to become a successful driver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Provide waste removal services to customers on assigned routes, ensuring timely and professional service.
  • Clean up spills and overflows, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, completing logs and reports as required.
  • Interact with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card within 10 days of employment.
  • Must obtain a Class B CDL permit within 60 days of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL within 90 days of employment.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
  • Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and understand a map.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including prolonged physical exertions.
  • Required to enter and exit the vehicle multiple times per day.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with customers.

Working Conditions:

  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
  • Ability to travel between offices, as required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable).
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
